The Ultimate Loona Theory (Part 1 - Music Video Analysis)

So, I’ve gone back and forth on what to do for this Loona theory. Basically, with every new installment in the lore, I have to completely rework what I thought was going on. I’ve got a pretty good idea of some things though, so I’m going to be discussing those.

This discussion will have an analysis of every single video on the music video playlist on loonatheworld. If Blockberry Creative said that every single music video is connected, then every single music video has to be discussed. I will also present a proposed timeline of events.

Before I start, I should mention that at this point we know that there are at least three distinct worlds in the Loonaverse: the real world, the Odd Eye Circle world (which is highly connected to the real world through a Mobius strip), and Eden. Each girl can be distinctly seen in at least two worlds, and sometimes, either implicitly or explicitly, all three.

Okay then, let’s begin.

Heejin - ViViD

When I first started looking into the Loonaverse, I was convinced that Heejin was trapped in a dimension of her own design; that her own innate powers got the best of her and she needs to be rescued. Knowing what I know now, it is clear that Heejin is in Eden. She has everything in her mansion, but you can see that she doesn’t really want to be there. The psychedelic art breakdown of the house near the end of the video proves that.

It is not clear when Heejin got to Eden, but it’s at some point close to the end of the timeline.

The numerous rabbits show that Heejin, although she wants to leave Eden, she has been captivated by her paradise. She is just so incredibly interested in these rabbits; which is Eden’s way of giving her a reason to stay. She is enticed by Eden, but something is actively telling her that she needs to leave. This can also be seen when she opens up a closet and sees everything; Eden is giving her everything she wants.

At the end of the video, we see Heejin turning around to look at something, or someone. I believe at the end of the video one of the other Loona members comes to save her from Eden. As to who it is, I have two guesses. My first guess is ViVi. My reasoning for that is the way the title of the song is spelled. My second, and the far more obvious one, is the twelfth member, who is also in Eden. My third guess is Yves, as she has been shown to go around and help girls reject Eden. I’m leaning more towards it being the twelfth girl, mostly due to the Mobius strip, but also for another reason that I will discuss later.

We also need to discuss the French in the video. The subtitles at the beginning read “Je voudrais nettoyer. Il existe des outils la-bas” which translates to: I would like to clean. There are tools out there. My take on this is that it means that the Loonaverse is a mess, and the tools to fix it are Loona themselves.

Heejin - ViViD (Acoustic Mix)

This video only serves to cement the fact that Heejin was once in the real world, and not in Eden.

There is also a shot of a subway train, something that will become a common theme throughout Loona videos.

Hyunjin - Around You (Original and Film Versions)

Both versions have been added together because they both basically prove and show the same things.

The video mostly goes to prove that Hyunjin is from the real world. Hyunjin is interesting because she’s one of the girls who can be seen in all three worlds in the Loonaverse in some shape or form, but that will come about a little bit later.

The plot line of this video basically boils down to her being stalked by a cat - her representative animal - and her trying to tell a man something through letters.

There are two interesting things that can be seen. Firstly, Hyunjin ends up on a train travelling to see the man. See, it’s a running trend. A train will become important in a later video, and I don’t think it’s just coincidence.

Secondly, the interaction between Hyunjin and the cat is interesting and arguably the most important part of the plot. The cat - her inherent powers - is following her around. Her powers want her to accept them. She is seen trying to, but ends up not. By the end of the video (and briefly at the beginning), we see Hyunjin wearing a cat head. This shows that she has accepted her powers, and therefore her place in the Loonaverse. The multiple cat Hyunjins at the end show that she may have the power to be in multiple places at once.

There is also text present throughout the video. The first two just say “Loona” and “Around You”, but the third says “I Just Leave Again Without a Word”, which could be a reference to her interdimensional ways; she can leave without saying anything.

Heejin/Hyunjin - I’ll Be There

What this video goes to prove is that 2Jin met each other at some point in the real world and became close friends.

At this point, I believe that Hyunjin is already aware of her powers, as she’s the one who gets the split screen treatment of her lips during the bridge (I’ve looked multiple times and I don’t think any of them are Heejin’s). This was my proof that Hyunjin’s power is to be at many places at once in the timeline.

Another interesting point is the yellow and black checkered outfits they wear. It’s sort of innocuous right now, but this specific pattern and colour combination will become more important by the end of the theory.

Haseul - Let Me In

This video is nothing but symbolism so I’ll just go point by point.

First of all, the car she’s in is being driven by no one. While this could be interpreted as her being distinctly led to a certain point by an unknown power, I disagree with this assessment. I believe that she’s using her own power to get there. She knows where she’s going. As we can see in other videos where she’s present, Haseul seems to have an uncanny ability of knowing what’s exactly going on.

The yellow car though? Yeah, that’s important, remember that.

Secondly, she’s picking up diamonds. I believe that these diamonds represent the girls of Loona, and Haseul’s knowledge that she has to find the other girls. At this point, I believe that the girls are completely in different worlds, and not the real world. Due to this, I believe that ‘Let Me In’ is at the very end of the timeline.

We also see Haseul interact with another version of herself; I like to call her Bird Haseul. When I think of Bird Haseul, I only think of that episode of the animated Teen Titans show where Starfire disappears and Raven, in her loneliness after the team disbands, turns the manifestation of her power  from black to white. That’s a super huge generalization, but anyways, that’s sort of how I view Bird Haseul. She’s from a future where she loses all of the Loona members. Haseul shooting her down at the end is showing that Haseul rejects that future for herself.

We also see that she’s in a barren wasteland, in what it presumably the real world. I take this to mean that she’s already at her undesired future: all the Loona members are gone. Without them, the world has lost its colour. Therefore, Haseul needs to collect all the members to make the world whole again.

Going back to Heejin's video: the Loonaverse is a mess and Loona has to fix it.

We also see a paper airplane, which will become important in another video.

The Carol – Heejin, Hyunjin, Haseul

This video is proof that Heejin, Hyunjin, and Haseul all knew each other in the real world at some point.

The red boxes with blue ribbons will become important later. I know I keep saying that but please stick with me. These boxes at some point also explode with down feathers, which could be a representation of Yves influence after her escape from Eden, but we’ll get to that later.

Kiss Later – Yeojin

Like Heejin, I initially thought that Yeojin was trapped in her own dimension, but no, it’s Eden. The initial comparison to Heejin’s video is that they both take place in mansions with all the comforts build in. This seems to be the most consistent view of Eden that we get throughout the Loonaverse.

However, Yeojin seems far more skeptical of Eden then Heejin. While we can see that Heejin wants to leave, Yeojin doesn’t seem to ever really be captivated by Eden itself, unlike Heejin. Yeojin’s mansion is topsy-turvy, and it has less of a sense of being real. It’s a mockery of the beauty Eden can be; distorted because of Yeojin's cynicism.

Yeojin does seem to actively want to accept Eden, however, which can be seen when she goes to kiss the frog. She has given up trying to reject Eden and has decided to accept her fate in Eden instead. You always get the sense, though, that whenever she gets close to completely accepting Eden (symbolized by her kissing the frog), she backs out. She doesn’t want to be there, not really.

You can also see that one of the Christmas boxes from ‘The Carol’ is on her bed, which implies that she had close contact with at least one of the Loona girls at some point, and I think it’s Yves.

My Sunday – Heejin and Hyunjin

Further proof that 2Jin know each other in the real world.

First of all, there’s another shot of a train. It’s a trend; Loona attracts trains,

Also, this is the first instance of Hyunjin manifesting herself as a cat, sort of like a guardian. The cat is not facing the camera, which implies that since Hyunjin herself is present in the physical, she doesn’t need to be watching herself as closely.

Hyunjin cats thus far: 1

My Melody – Haseul and Yeojin

Proof that Hasel and Yeojin knew each other at some point before Yeojin is taken to Eden.

There is also a cat in this video. Hyunjin is watching over Haseul and Yeojin. As Hyunjin is interdimensional, she probably knows that some shit is going to go down involving the Loona members, and is keeping an eye out to make sure that everything at that particular point in the timeline is going smoothly.

Hyunjin cats thus far: 2

Love&Live – Loona 1/3

This video takes place entirely in the real world. It basically is further proof that Heejin, Hyunjin, and Haseul know not only each other, but also new member ViVi.

The only thing that makes this video something more than just proof of them knowing each other is the fact that ViVi is shown to be a robot. She’s the only non-human present in the Loonaverse. That we know of. She is also the first instance of the ‘odd eye’ in the Loonaverse, implying that she’s not from the real world, but the Odd Eye Circle universe.

We also see ViVi doing a lot of running, specifically, running away. She seems to be unsure of her place in this Universe, as her odd eye flashes as her battery runs low. Her battery, therefore, does not represent a physical lifespan, but time that she’s allowed in the real world of Loona 1/3. She keeps refilling it, but at some point decides that she needs to leave.

At the end of this video, ViVi runs into a field and therefore becomes missing from the timeline. I believe that she has willingly run towards Eden.

By this point in the timeline, Yeojin is missing and therefore has already been taken to Eden.

You and Me Together – Loona 1/3

This video is also proof that Heejin, Hyunjin, Haseul, and ViVi know each other in the real world.

This video also shows that the other girls are aware that ViVi does not belong in the real world. Hyunjin is seen plugging ViVi’s battery back in, implying one of two things: 1) that she just wants ViVi to have more time with them 2) Interdimensional Hyunjin knows what Haseul’s future looks like if all the girls disappear from the real world, and is therefore trying to show ViVi that she needs to stay.

Everyday I Love You – ViVi (feat. Haseul)

This video is cool to me because it clearly doesn’t happen; it’s a false memory. It is what ViVi has created for herself. The entire video has this grainy filter on it, which implies that the memory is blurry. It is a way for her to justify her sudden friendship with the other girls in ‘Love&Live’

It also explains the appearance of Yeojin, even though she is never seen to interact with anyone other than Haseul (and Choerry, but that’s for later). ViVi is made to know of her existence, but never actually meets her. By the time ViVi arrives in the real world, Yeojin has already been taken to Eden.

The roller-skating date is also a call forward to Yves video, which was likely the basis of the false memory.

ViVi gets a text at the end, but for the life of me I can’t figure out what it says, but I’m sure it’s important. Like I tried to go hangul letter by hangul letter and I still can’t figure it out. No one seems to have an analysis of this online, so I guess this was released before anyone realized how important the story is. If there's anyone reading this who can tell me what it says, please let me know.

Sontatine – Loona 1/3

Sonatine is part of the story of ViVi arriving in the real world from the Odd Eye Circle world. We see her looking around wide eyed at her new surroundings.

What’s interesting is that all 4 of the girls are in the real world, but they are not seen interacting, which implies that this is before all the girls met.

Since this is before the girls even know each other, and Yeojin is already gone, it implies that Yeojin was taken to Eden long before ViVi arrived in the real world. This is backed up from the description of the video. It states “The girls who are lost in the forest have gathered here. Can they save YeoJin?”. This is the first video to have such a description

Everyday I Need You – ViVi (feat JinSoul)

Another video featuring ViVi wandering, except this time there’s a train in the background in one of those shots.

Also important, JinSoul is originally from the real world, and not the Odd Eye Circle world. I propose that JinSoul and ViVi have switched places in their respective worlds. This would make sense, as the other times we see her alone she seems to be going crazy, which I would be too if I was suddenly pulled from my world into another. In this video, she seems calm.

Additionally, we see ViVi with an inanimate deer, which is the first time one of the girls has been shown to be with a fake animal. This could mean two things. First of all, it implies that ViVi herself is also artificial, being a robot. Secondly, it could also show that she is a stranger to the real world.

Eclipse – Kim Lip

Welcome to your first look at the Odd Eye Circle world.

Kim Lip is interesting because she’s the only OEC girl to actually seem to be from the OEC world. And she’s trying to bring the girls closer to her.

The actual music video does not show much, as it’s a dance focused video. However, we can gleam a few things from it. First of all, it is clear that this is Kim Lip’s way of drawing other girls towards the OEC universe. Second of all, the imagery of eyes (specifically an Owl’s) is present in this video. This shows that Kim Lip has her eyes out for the girls whom she can form Odd Eye Circle with.

More importantly, the video description gives us three more questions to answer.

Can JinSoul, rescued from a basement in Hong Kong by the wishes of the fans, meet with the rest of the LOOΠΔ?

This implies that Kim Lip has brought JinSoul out of the Hong Kong of the real world into the OEC world. She’s been “rescued”.

Will YeoJin find her way towards the other members without wandering off somewhere else?

This implies that Yeojin is already in Eden, and I think it’s inadvertently Kim Lip’s fault (otherwise why would it be mentioned in this way?). We’ll get into that later though. It’s a bit of a paradox.

Who will Kim Lip meet to complete her circle of colors?

Her circle of colours will come together as Odd Eye Circle, so we know that it will be Jinsoul and Choerry.

Singing in the Rain – Jinsoul

This is Jinsoul just before she’s arrived in the OEC universe. She’s alone and quite volatile. She is seen with a fish in a plastic bag, kind of like a security blanket. She is also seen walking through an aquarium, looking longingly at the school of fish. I think this represents the fact that she’s alone and doesn’t want to be. However, she can also tell that she’s different, since her fish is blue and the others are gold. This, to me, shows that she was always different but did not want to accept it, though a later video will confirm that she knows exactly how different she really is.

She is also in a tank to show that she is now trapped in another universe that is not her own.

We can tell that she’s not quite yet in the OEC universe as she has no physical surroundings. She can be seen running on a road towards the moon, which is the actual OEC universe, her final destination. The shots of her swimming in the sky is her being physically pulled into the OEC world.

She is seen at the end of the video, no fish in her bag, no more inhibitions. And she’s pissed.

The only new clue in the video description is the mention that each new girl brings a new berry, the forbidden fruit needed to escape Eden.

Rain 52db – Loona 1/3

This is another false memory created by ViVi’s robot mind. It’s just her and the rest of the 1/3 girls. There is no Yeojin, so this is a false memory after ‘Everyday I Love You’ to rescind the memory of Yeojin in ViVi’s mind.

Love Cherry Motion – Choerry

This is the first video to take place in two places, the real world and the OEC world. This video proves that Choerry is originally from the real world, like JinSoul, and has been transported to the OEC world by Kim Lip.

However, the most important thing is that she knows both Haseul and Yeojin, meaning this video takes place before Yeojin is transported to Eden early on in the timeline.

Through her power and her seeing eye, Kim Lip sends a cherry cake to Choerry in order to bring her to the OEC world. However, Choerry only eats the cherry, thereby making her the first girl to deny Eden. It can be assumed that something from this transaction causes Yeojin to be taken to Eden in, presumably, Choerry’s stead, leaving Haseul alone until she can find the other girls after the events of Sonatine.

Jinsoul is already in the OEC world as of this video, meaning that ViVi is already in the real world. Jinsoul is seen with Kim Lip, meaning that they have already met up in the OEC world. And there’s the paradox. Jinsoul is already in the OEC world and ViVi is in the real world, so Yeojin should have been taken to Eden by this point. It seems that, in bringing the girls over to the OEC universe, Kim Lip has managed to mess up the timeline. Either that, or ‘Eclipse’ only displays Kim Lip bringing Jinsoul into the OEC world, but Yeojin is already directly stated in that description to be gone by that point. So, yeah, Kim Lip messed with the timeline by forcing the other two 'odd eyes' into her world.

Like it is implied in 'ViViD', the Loonaverse is a mess and Loona has to fix it.

As Choerry is transported to the OEC world, she is greeted by Kim Lip. Initially, I thought that this was Bird Haseul, but the hair and the dress are both too long. Kim Lip, using her seeing eye, knows about the mirror trick that Choerry uses to attract Haseul’s attention at the start of the video, and uses it to bring Choerry down to the OEC universe proper.

She enters a field where there’s mirrors on the ground, exactly 12 of them. I believe that these mirrors eventually will turn into Haseul’s diamonds in ‘Let Me In’ due to the power of the Mobius strip, which states that the events in the OEC world have a direct opposite in the real world. These mirrors are also images into Eden, which can be seen by Eden Choerry in the mirror showing Choerry a cherry, and then handing it to her, thereby securing that Choerry has indeed denied Eden. Each one of these mirrors, therefore, would show each of the Loona girls in Eden eventually, as they were all brought there.

The images of Choerry hanging upside have two meanings. Firstly, it shows that she will be the one who will turn the story of Loona upside down. Secondly, as a fruit bat, she can help the other girls escape Eden by bring them their forbidden fruit.

She ends the video looking up at 3 moons, which are blue, red, and purple. This shows that she has completed the Odd Eye Circle team, which is further emphasized by the fact that Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Choerry can all be seen together.

Girl Front – Odd Eye Circle

This video shows OEC together in the OEC world, trying to pinpoint where the other Loona members are, presumably on the other side of the Mobius.

It starts off with someone watching Kim Lip, who is omni-aware of everything and turns around. She then continues throughout the video running away from whoever is watching her.

The girls keep seeing visions of themselves watching them, which represents the fact that Kim Lip has destroyed the timeline, making a paradox. It is also a reference to Hyunjin, who can be multiple places at once. The person watching Kim Lip is eventually revealed to be herself.

The Odd Eye Circles make an appearance in this video, to emphasize that the girls all have power, and are used to differentiate them from the others.

Choerry has a map and we can see that there are stickers on it representing the Loona members. In particular, she places a sticker of a cat next to a Ferris wheel. In the chronological order of videos, this is the last place we see Hyunjin, though timeline wise ‘Sonatine’ is not the last known whereabouts of her; ‘Love&Live’ and ‘You and Me Together’ are. However, Hyunjin is not with the Loona 1/3 girls anymore.

She’s in the OEC world.

For a split second, we see Hyunjin turn around in response to the stimulus the OEC girls are sending out into the universe. One of the girls must have managed to pull Hyunjin into the OEC world, it was likely Kim Lip, but could also be Choerry. Hyunjin is now probably at the Ferris wheel where Choerry placed the cat sticker.

Therefore, Hyunjin’s physical form has moved to the OEC world, leaving Haseul the only one left in the real world (as far as we know). The fact that the girls are starting to see doubles of themselves is the result of Hyunjin’s influence.

Choerry, at one point, makes a paper airplane out of her map. Remember Haseul’s solo, ‘Let Me In’? While slightly different, a paper airplane also appears in that video. Choerry, who is interdimensional, gives Haseul the key she needs to find the rest of Loona and make the real world bright again. The airplane comes back to Choerry, tattered, showing that it has been used. The paper is different due to the power of the Mobius strip.

Another connection is that the same yellow truck seen in ‘Let Me In’ is used in ‘Girl Front’. We know that this is not the Mobius strip connection for Haseul’s wasteland, since that was Choerry’s field, but could indicate that Haseul has managed to give them a way to leave and join her. It’s an interdimensional yellow truck.

The girls all gaze up in the sky to show that their circle is complete, meaning that their task was done. I believe the task was to give Haseul the information needed to reunite Loona, which Choerry does.

There is also a seemingly menacing figure dancing around them in a circle. Most seem to think that this is Yves or Chuu, but we’ll get to that soon.

The girl throwing stuff at them is likely Yves.

The video ends with a tape recorder stopping rewinding and starting to play. This is to reference the fact that the movement to bring together Loona has started, now that Haseul has the map.

Loonatic – Odd Eye Circle

This video mostly serves as a recap of what we know about the OEC girls thus far. That doesn’t give it an ambiguous place in the timeline, but is actually the rewound footage from the tape recorder from the end of ‘Girl Front’.

We do see some of the missing pieces from the story. We see Kim Lip waiting for Choerry in ‘Love Cherry Motion’, and Jinsoul watching from behind. That confirms it was Kim Lip calling for Choerry and not Bird Haseul.

We also get a better view of the map. It has ten circled dots, implying possible Loona member sightings, and then Hyunjin’s cat. The cat indicates that’s where Hyunjin has landed in the OEC world, so we know that’s where is she was picked up from.

Hyunjin is actually in the room with OEC, running around them, for whatever reason. We know it’s Hyunjin because her presence has been explicitly stated in the ‘Girl Front’ video. Her hair is also too dark to be Chuu and too long and straight to be Yves.  Her presence is clearly not wanted by the OEC members, which I understand because Hyunjin is acting very out of character in this moment. This is likely due to her physical body being shifted against her will. We saw the same thing with Jinsoul after she was brought by Kim Lip to the OEC World; she was angry and volatile in 'Singing in the Rain' which is a complete opposite to her usual demeanour.

The girl throwing stuff at them is still Yves though, always causing havoc, always trying to get their attention.

Sweet Crazy Love – Odd Eye Circle

Finally, we get to the scene on the train. There are so many godforsaken trains in these music videos, when really the only time they’re used as an actual set is in this video. Jinsoul is on the train in the real world. If you’ll remember correctly, trains are only otherwise seen with Heejin, Hyunjin, and ViVi. So, we have two odd eyes (one who is also a robot), an interdimensional being, and Heejin, so that means there must be something off about Heejin that we just haven't learned yet.

Anyways, back to the video.

In this video, Kim Lip is the only one of the three girls in the OEC world. We know this because we see Jinsoul with her fish (which she loses when she comes to OEC) and Choerry still has her backpack, which does not travel with her.

Jinsoul has an eyepatch on, which says to me that her odd eye has opened in the real world, which I'm assuming that it isn’t supposed to. She is trying to hide the fact that she is different from everyone else. We get confirmation of her opened odd eye when she pulls off her eyepatch.

Choerry is also seen having eye issues, which implies that her odd eye is about to open.

Someone pulls out Jinsoul’s earbud, and we can assume it’s Yves.

Kim Lip is seen at a train station, when Choerry moves past her on the train (which adds two more odd eyes to the train connection). They are in two separate worlds, so Kim Lip is using her seeing eye to look past the Mobius strip and see Choerry on the other side. We can assume this since Kim Lip’s odd eye immediately activates. Choerry seems to sense her too, but without the use of her odd eye, which isn’t quite ready yet.

This immediately sets the action of the Loonaverse into motion. This video directly leads into ‘Eclipse’, which is why the girls get sent from universe to universe. This is the motion that will send ViVi to the real world, bring Jinsoul and Choerry to the OEC world, and inadvertently send Yeojin to Eden.

Basically, Kim Lip is the catalyst for this whole thing.

new – Yves

First of all, you can tell that we’re going into something completely different because the moon logo usually moves to the right side of the screen, but now moves towards the left.

Apples are one of the first major pieces of imagery in this video. It showcases Yves’ open contempt for God and Eden. Her forbidden fruit is the obvious one, and showcases the official start to the storyline of denying Eden.

We also see Yves descending a building throughout the video, as well as the large sign with her name moving downwards. Both are a show of her physical movement from Eden to the OEC world.

Yes, the OEC world, NOT the real world. Not yet.

Yves also has to be in the OEC universe to capture the attention of the OEC girls, hence the bothering in ‘Girl Front’, ‘Loonatic’, and ‘Sweet Crazy Love’.

Next, we see that she’s wearing a yellow and black checkered outfit, not unlike what Hyunjin and Heejin are wearing in ‘I’ll Be There’. The call forward to this outfit so early on in the video series implies that Yves is having an effect on the girls, meaning that this is one of the earliest videos in the timeline.

We then see Yves playing a claw machine game, trying to win stuffed animals. We see her grab two animals in particular: a frog and a penguin. The penguin is a call forward to Chuu’s video, while the frog represents Yeojin. Since Yves stops Chuu from accepting Eden, Yves will be the one who rescues Yeojin from Eden.

She also plays golf with an apple, showing that she believes Eden to be a joke. She also plays golf with a bunch of stuffed animals, a stuffed cygnet (a baby swan), in particular. The cygnet is a manifestation of her animal (which is a swan), and shows that she is not some baby that will blindly believe what she is told to believe in.

Most importantly, she is seen on a roller-skating date with ViVi. This is the basis for ViVi’s false memory in ’Everyday I Love You’. The roller-skating provided a strong enough memory for the android to manipulate. The boy in ViVi’s video? Yves.

At the time of the date, the Yves sign is all the way at the bottom, meaning that Yves is in the OEC world when she meets ViVi. ViVi’s hair is not pink implying that this was before she became a robot. When Kim Lip accidently transported her out of the OEC world, something must have happened to ViVi to make her artificial.

Yves smiles at her, because she knows exactly who ViVi is. She is a member of Loona, and therefore connects with Yves is a special way.

Choerry is also seen in this video. Yves drops an apple out of Eden to her. This is why Choerry knew to eat the cherry in ‘Love Cherry Motion’; she had already been given a sign to deny Eden. Yves’ touch on her is also why her odd eye circle appears to be bothering her in the ‘Sweet Crazy Love’ music video, even before she passes by Kim Lip on the train.

Choerry’s appearance also makes it clear that she is in the real world at this point, and therefore Yeojin is not already trapped in Eden. Yves pulling the frog out of the claw machine means only that she knows that is going to happen.

This interaction shows that Yves has the power to communicate through universes.

This also makes it clear that it is Choerry, and not Haseul or Yves or Hyunjin or Kim Lip, who connects the worlds. Haseul needs to find the members, but she herself is unable to transport through worlds. Yves seems to also have a goal to bring all the girls together, but her intentions for it are murky at best. Hyunjin, our little interdimensional friend, seems to mostly have the power to observe, and not interact. Kim Lip can call others to the OEC world, and can view them through the Mobius strip, but she does not actually interact through the barrier.

Choerry, on the other hand, we know will be active in at least 2 dimensions. She has closely interacted with both the 1/3 girls (Haseul and Yeojin) and is a member of OEC, and now also has this connection to Yves.

The description of the music video also gives us a few hints to the story.

Yves asks a question in Eden. “Is it really a bad thing to disobey God?” If someone has already decided our fate, wouldn’t it be a better life to stand up and against that fate?

Even if it’s not something grand such as God or fate, Yves sings that she will not surrender herself to any walls or glass ceilings she may have to face.

Yves wants to subvert the fate of the Loona members against living life in isolation in Eden. She wants to reject the idea that she has to follow a predetermined plan. From what we have seen so far, Eden is a lonely place where one lives in their perfect world, but in solitude. We can assume that Yves was lonely and therefore desires to create connections.

It is unclear if Yves was originally from the real world or the OEC world.

Around You (Special Version) – Hyunjin

This music video tells the story of how Hyunjin and Heejin met. They were schoolmates, and Heejin was dating the boy that Hyunjin liked. Somehow, they managed to get through this teenaged drama to become friends.

Kim Lip is also in this video, but I believe that’s due to the Mobius strip. She’s present, but not really. Since Kim Lip is trying to reach the other girls, she could be peering through the Mobius strip using her odd eye to see Hyunjin and Heejin. This influence this event would have had on both Hyunjin and Heejin may have been the catalyst that would eventually send them to OEC and Eden respectively after the events of ‘Love&Live’ and ‘You and Me Together’, but that could also be caused by ViVi willingly running towards Eden as well. Therefore, the cause of their movements are still unknown.

The Carol 2.0

Yeah, I’m stumped with this one. This is literally the only video that doesn’t fit into the timeline anywhere. It makes no send for it to go at the beginning or the middle, since ViVi and Choerry never interact, and Choerry and Yves never directly interact. It can’t go at the end, since the story basically has to end with Haseul getting the directions to the other members. Is it a false memory? Perhaps, but then who’s would it be? It can’t be ViVi’s because it doesn’t ahev the same effects as her other two memories.

I think it’s most likely that it’s a dream of Yves’ after she falls from Eden and interacts with those two girls. She had been isolated for so long that she misses the companionship she had briefly.

There is nothing to imply that it’s real. There are no trains and no Hyunjin cats. Therefore, the only explanation is that this is happening in Yves’ head. I literally can’t think of any other way that it would fit.

Heart Attack – Chuu

This video continues the trend of the Loona moon intro going the wrong direction.

Chuu comes out guns blazing in a yellow and black checkered outfit, mirroring Yves. The influence Yves has on Chuu is incredibly strong, which is the entire plot line of this music video.

At this point, Yves is in the real world, not the OEC universe, implying that she has the ability to jump dimensions at will. Perhaps this is the power from Eden, or it’s the power from directly denying it. We know this is the real world by the end of the video, so please bear with me on that front.

Yves clearly has a magnetic effect on Chuu, and she’s probably doing it on purpose. She wants Chuu to notice her so she can therefore save her from Eden. Yves smiles at Chuu the same way she smiles at ViVi: it’s a smile of knowing exactly who that person is. Yves seems to know that Chuu is a member of Loona, but is going to toy with her for a while because that’s just what Yves does. She’s going to mess around with Chuu until Chuu decides for herself to deny Eden in a last-ditch effort to impress Yves.

Chuu can also be seen playing gold with a stuffed penguin, her representative animal. This shows she wants to be exactly like Yves and subvert her fate, but Yves rejected who she was before not who she is now. By doing this, Chuu is trying to portray to Yves exactly what lengths she will go to get her attention.

She also drops apples but they don’t have the same effect; Chuu is in the real world, and is not connected to Eden except through Yves.

She runs around Yves much like how Hyunjin ran around OEC in ‘Girl Front’ and ‘Loonatic’. This is the main evidence people use to say that it is Yves in those two videos, but Yves is very careful to only draw attention, and not show herself.

Chuu gives Yves apples but it doesn’t work because Yves no longer needs apples; she’s already escaped Eden. It is Chuu who eventually eats the apple and denies Eden, because that is what Yves has driven her to do. Chuu thereafter eats strawberries, her own forbidden fruit.

The moment Chuu denies Eden is the moment that Yves accepts her. It is only a dream, but she is accepted by Yves nonetheless. It shows Chuu that now that she has denied Eden she can do whatever it is that she wants, and never, ever has to live in isolation.

If you look at the Christmas presents they’re unwrapping, they look identical to the ones in ‘The Carol’. This is the reason for feathers coming out of the presents in that video, it’s Yves’ influence. That’s also why one of the presents is on Yeojin’s bed in ‘Kiss Later’, it’s Yves’ sign to Yeojin that she is coming to get her out of there.

At the very end of the video, we see Chuu lying in the snow, when someone comes to wake her up. It’s Haseul, dressed in her outfit from ‘The Carol’, placing ‘Heart Attack’ immediately afterwards. Haseul looks at Chuu, knowing completely who she is as Chuu walks away.

Yves is gone, and Chuu is about to join her.

The music video description leaves us with this:

When four girls who denied the garden of Eden gathers, the party begins.

This means that four girls who have denied Eden have to be together in order for the party to begin. So far, the girls who have denied Eden are Choerry, Yves, and Chuu, so technically something should happen when one more girl denies Eden. However, it’s unlikely that Choerry will be a part of this.

One&Only – Go Won

Welcome to Eden, don’t enjoy your stay.

We know this is Eden because it’s a mansion, and all of our other depictions of Eden have to do with mansions. We see Go Won isolated in this mansion, as Eden is prone to doing, and she seems incredibly unsure. Like Yves, she does not seem to have any connection to either the real world or the OEC world.

One of the first strange scenes we see in this video is an image of Choerry hanging upside down, because she’s a bat. Way back in the ‘Love Cherry Motion’ analysis, I mentioned that Choerry would help the others deny Eden by bringing them their forbidden fruit. That is exactly what her purpose is in this music video: she’s ready to help Go Won escape. We know this because she’s literally holding an apple. The symbolism isn’t hard to catch.

As soon as Choerry drops the apple, Go Won starts really freaking out, because until that moment she had never even considered leaving Eden. It’s possible that Eden is the only place she has ever known, which brings up the question: is that the same for Yves? If Yves has also only known Eden before her denial, how did she even learn to question it in the first place?

Yves and Chuu also become present after Choerry appears, just watching Go Won, waiting for her to question it all. After the apple drops and Go Won becomes aware, they become far more active in their pursuit. Because Go Won does not really want to deny Eden, she runs and hides from them.

This goes with the fact that I believe Yves can just be interdimensional

The crown imagery is incredibly important in this video. First of all, it mirrors her forbidden fruit, the pineapple. In Eden, only God can reign, but Go Won’s deepest desire, which manifests itself in a pineapple, shows that she wants to reign instead and have power over her own destiny. For the first half of this video, her desire does not outweigh her drive to not deny the only place she knows. This is shown in her shadow, as it dances when she is standing still, and has a crown while her physical head is bare.

As the influence of Yves and Chuu grows stronger, Go Won can be seen trying to mimic her shadow and sitting down at an empty table, with her forbidden fruit waiting for her. She chooses not to eat. In this moment, she is still too scared to deny.

Hyunjin appears as a cat, watching Go Won. On the Mobius strip, they are each other’s opposites, so it makes sense that Hyunjin would be hear making sure that Go Won follows the direction of the timeline.

Go Won is the only girl to go through a true metamorphosis on screen. She covers herself in lace, mimicking a cocoon, to show that she’s in between; not quite accepting, not quite denying.

As she eats the pineapple, her hair goes blonde and she emerges from the cocoon. She is at the table, with Yves and Chuu sitting at the end. There are 12 place settings, which means that this table was originally meant for all 12 girls of Loona. At that moment, though, there are only three.

Yves eventually crowns Go Won, showing that since she denied Eden, she can have all that she wants, much like what Yves showed to Chuu. Yves then hugs Go Won, to show that the isolation of Eden no longer is in effect, and that she doesn’t have to be alone anymore.

The three girls run off together, in matching yellow and black outfits, leaving Eden.

At the end of the video, we can see a figure at the end of the corridor, which could be one of 4 people. Firstly, it could be Heejin, who has been stuck in Eden sine after the effects of ‘Love&Live’. It could be ViVi, who chose to go to Eden after ‘Love&Live’, and could be regretting her choice due to the influence of Yves. It could also be Yeojin, who has literally been trapped in Eden since the very beginning of the timeline. Finally, and most likely, it could be the 12th girl. Her shadow mimics the behaviour of Heejin at the end of ‘ViViD’, and will close the circle.

The description of the video states that the three girls are now looking for their last puzzle piece to create their own universe. This universe is likely going to be the full Loonaverse with all twelve girls.

That ends my video analysis for now. I will add girl 12 and the third unit videos as they come out. I will have two more parts to this theory, the timeline and a post to wrap up some loose ends. But I’m going to take a break because this is over 7000 words and I want to die.

The things that I'm going to wrap up in the third post are things like the current locations of the girls, what some of the symbolism means, and any other questions that may come up after I post this.

  3. umm i think that i have a explanation on your theory
I am probably missing a few things, but I just wanted to express this, because I really do not believe that Olivia is being rejected by the Eden girls like a few people have theorized. I believe she is just alone in the making of loonaverse. Remember she is a wolf, and The leader of a wolf pack is always at the end alone watching the whole pack for safety.

  4. this is my theory about go won "Yves, now alongside Chuu, they are on the search of Go Won, That is why she is hidden from them, they came back to Eden just to get her back, when she bites her pineapple she rejects Eden. She turned blonde and now Yves can crown her, or congratulate her in becoming someone that loves oneself."

  5. In Around You, Hyunjin opens the door and finds a bracelet on the ground, which in a video released by BBC shows that Go Won made the bracelet and put it around a cat's neck, and the cat brought it to Hyunjin, knocking over the vase and getting her attention.

    1. Hi!

So this theory was published before those videos were released. I'd really like to go and find all those videos, and I will eventually, to add them to the theory, because clearly these videos prove just how deep the connections are.

And I will find those videos. I swear I will XD

"FavOriTe", "Hi High", and the Complete Predebut Story of LOONA

I’ve been thinking a lot about “Hi High” and its place in LOONA’s lore. As this is LOONA’s debut as a full twelve-member group, I wanted to make sure that I put proper time and care into this theory so that it’s as cohesive as possible. I would have liked to get this done sooner, but honestly, it’s been difficult. I now work a full-time job, so making time to write out these theories has become harder. I am, however, committed to this, so better late than never. In regard to “FavOriTe”, I don’t think there’s much there in the way of lore or story. If I had to put it in the timeline, it would be the very last video story-wise. We see all the twelve girls together, and therefore we can assume that this video marks the end of their journey to find one another. If you have not yet watched either “FavOriTe” or “Hi High”, here are the link to watch them, which I highly recommend: Back to “Hi High”, I’m going to do things a little bit differently this time around. The Ultimate LOONA Theory: yyxy "love4eva"

So I would have had this posted sooner but I am so livid. I am so livid because up until this point everything worked so well together. All the videos fit together in a very obvious way to me. Everything LOONA acted as various puzzle pieces that combined together with no hassle. While I put a lot of effort into my theory, I haven't had to change anything around. I've never had to change my line of thinking. Until now. With LOONA's third sub-unit, yyxy, I've had to rethink many things that I thought true about the Loonaverse, and I hate it. I absolutely HATE being wrong. I have lived my life being more or less right about everything that I have chosen to do. With this theory, I could handle being completely wrong about the entire thing because there's probably going to be no actual confirmation about the correctness about this. But for a tiny thing like this one video, I absolutely hate being wrong. With that being said, let's begin. In a random turn
